Season Awards – 2008 Trophy Awards

This screen will give you some idea of the types of Awards, Prizes and Incentives I offer my students for their accomplishments, in & out of the water. You can see what types of accomplishments I value. Primarily ATTENDANCE, even more than swimming skills which will almost automatically follow good attendance.

I have a lot of fun giving these Awards and the kids much enjoy receiving them. I feel Recognition & Appreciation are great "motorvators" for accomplishment. Parental expressed Support and Recognition of their children's accomplishments (Swim Skills AND otherwise) greatly compound the positive effect and self–esteem building of their participation in my lesson program.

"SUCCESS STORY" OF THE YEAR: This is the most "Prestigious" Award. Usually given to a student whose name comes up multiple times as a "finalist" for other Trophy Awards, and/or whose Success & accomplishments have been phenomenal.

They are even willing to listen to my long rambling phone conversations when they can, and perhaps offer suggestions & insight to occasional quandaries I find myself in.

OTHER SEASON AWARDS

The following Awards are for miscellaneous things, some kind of "cutsie" and just "for fun".

ATTENDANCE AWARDS

We had a VERY SHORT Season this year. With Public Schools letting out later in June and Starting up again earlier in Aug/Sept, there was not opportunity to get in a lot of lessons. Fortunately, we enjoyed generally good weather and didn't have to cancel any lessons due to the weather once we finally got started.

15 + LESSONS (75%) — Minimum to achieve satisfactory Progress. 40 Students came 15–19 times.

20 + LESSONS (12.5%) — More Progress: 7 came 20 or more times: Elle & Grace KLOBERDANZ, Mallory & William MURPHY, James PATTEN, Josh & Zack TAYLOR

25 + LESSONS — Great Progress: Season too short to get in this many lessons @ 2 per week. Only 1, LIZZIE SILVER, attended 25 or more lessons. She did this by coming on the “Other” Days & Saturday Xtra Lessons.

30 + LESSONS — Fantastic, Super Progress: Season too short to get in this many.

INTERESTING NOTE: ALL those who took 20 or more lessons in 2008 have Xtra Early Bird Deposits on 2009 This demonstrates that the most satisfied clients had excellent attendance and are the ones who want to commit to another successful experience the next year. In other words, ATTENDANCE is a major key to Success, Satisfaction & Progress!

SESSION PERFECT ATTENDANCE

With my new "No–Session" Program, "Perfect Attendance" Awards were given to students when they attended 8 consecutive lessons as scheduled, 2 or 4X per week.

May Not enough Lessons given in May.

June 35.7%: 52 Students.

July 8.9%: 9 Students

August Attendance fell way off after about Jul 25. No one earned Perfect Attendance in Aug.

24 (42.86%) Students earned Perfect Attendance Awards

2 (3.57%) Students earned > 1 Perfect Attendance Award

SKILL LEVEL PROGRESS

1 Student, Ellie GYURO earned the "Tiny Tot" Award for swimming the length under age 4. She was the 1st in UT. 11 Students passed BEGINNER; 1 Student passed Strokes 1; 4 Students passed Strokes 2 (Elite)–Emma HAYES, Kylie KELSCH, Lizzie SILVER, Addyson WERSLAND.

None Graduated in 2008.
14 Students accomplished the 15 Min Survival Swim; 12 Swam the Length Underwater. Next year (2009) we're adding another Challenge–5 min MOTIONLESS Back Float.

I had 08 (9.3%) Special Needs Students for one thing or another.
