PAPERWORK, SWIM ASSESSMENT Parent Paperwork/Swim Assessments are scheduled at my pool (weather permitting) during the last week of School, Wed Jun 3–Sat Jun 6 between 2:00–5:30. Sat Morning, Jun 6 10:00–2:00 pm. Weather permitting, we may also start this the week of May 26–30. Call now to set your appointment. Bring the students in swim suits. We will have a "mini Test Day" to see where they are skill–wise. Bring any friends who may be interested in enrolling also for a free "lesson" & evaluation. No cost or obligation to them. This service is FREE to all who come and is not counted as a "lesson". |

LESSON SEASON
LESSONS Tentatively are scheduled to Start after Schools are out on Mon, Jun 8 & Tues, Jun 9 weather permitting.
Lessons are NOT scheduled on Legal Holidays: (Mem Day, July 4, Pioneer Day, Labor Day, or my PLANNED days off (if any) for Dr Appt, etc)––so there is nothing to Makeup or Extend. Unless at the discretion of the Pool Owner & Instructor, and enough people indicate they will come, lessons may be offered on these legal holidays and/or Sat mornings for those who sign up. In which case I will announce it & you have a chance for another lesson.
CONTINUING ON: MOST OF YOU are "automatically" enrolled for 16 consecutive lessons 2 or 4X/week as we agree, and will qualify for a FREE T–Shirt when you have paid in full for the 16 lessons by Jul 1. Beyond the 16 lesson commitment, your rates per–lesson will be at a greatly reduced fee of $7 ea by advance sign up as you wish and there are spaces available. Pay for these lessons at the end of the season when you know how many you have taken. I need to know BY your 12th Lesson if you want to Continue for more lessons this season. I don't want people dropping out in mid–week if their 16th lesson is on Mon or Tues. PLEASE sign up for a Sat Lesson, or pay the $7 for a 17th Lesson to avoid this problem. Thanks.
PLAN NOW TO RETURN NEXT YEAR: Qualify for the Xtra Early Bird Discount ($7, down from Regular $10/Lesson) by leaving a $20 non–refundable Deposit (or authorize Cr Cd Chg) before Aug 30. Don't drop out now. Next year your child(ren) will be a year older & bigger and developmentally ready to progress much farther. It worked well for them this year — Next Year will be even better!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR Now & plan to attend our FREE (Wear your SCSS T–Shirts) Season Awards/Pool Party on Thur Aug 27. Swimmers, family, & friends invited to swim. Agenda: Swim Playtime at 5:00 pm for 45–60 min. How long your kids are in the water will be determined by your arrival time. We clear & Cover the Pool at 6:00. Awards Presentations & Pix Taking for the rest of the time. We should be all thru by 7:00pm.
If you are NOT present at the Party, you need to make arrangements to come pick up your children's awards and/or prizes, of which there will be something for EACH child in the program. Packaging and mailing them to you is NOT an option. It is important that the children receive their awards ASAP and are recognized for their efforts, achievements and progress.
It's FREE, but BE SURE TO WEAR YOUR SCSS T–SHIRT if you have one! I want to take some pix.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Each time you come. This is our best means to maintain 2–way Communication. Be sure to Take and/or Fill Out completely the SAME DAY, any Questionnaires you find in your Calendar Page & put in my "Mailbag" without my needing to chase you down (Telephone or E–Mail Tag) for answers to questions. ESPECIALLY TOWARD THE END OF THE SUMMER when people seem to get complacent and answers to my questions are even more important. I think it is reasonable to expect phone & e–mail messages to be returned within 24 hrs. This will avoid nagging and embarrassing repeated E–mails and Phone messages to get the answers I need. Be sure to keep your Calendar Page Up–To–Date by Penciling in any coming dates you plan to be Absent. Check this EACH week for the NEXT WEEK especially so I can do a better job of scheduling over the weekend without so many last–minute changes.

WEATHER CONCERNS Especially at the first of the Season, the subject always comes up if I cancel lessons due to Weather (wind, rain, lightning). Usually, the ONLY reasons I cancel lessons is because: 1–Can't use the pool (Cold Water or Pool Problems); 2–Lightning, strong Wind or Very Cold Air (Under 65 deg). Otherwise it's "Damn the torpedoes — Full Steam ahead!" In most of these situations I am not aware of the problem until almost the very moment of starting lessons. Bad weather often blows over and oftentimes is very localized. What might be horrible in one place may be OK just 5 mi away. Thus, it is usually impossible to contact you (let alone connect) before you leave for your lesson My recommendation is to come anyway if you can. In the event of Pool Problems, I make every effort to find another pool to "run to", and thankful if we can. In those cases, there will be a sign on the gate giving directions to the other pool' and all lessons will begin 30 min later than scheduled to allow you time to get to the other pool. In the case of lightning — if it is too close, I clear the pool and we wait it out until it blows over, usually within 30–45 min, and we can resume lessons — though perhaps running a half hr or so late for the rest of the day. Those who elect to leave are not charged for that lesson. As parent the decision whether or not to come to a lesson is always yours. However, if you decide to miss for whatever reason, please call and leave a message to that effect so you don't get charged for an "Unexcused" Absence. |
ABSENCES
I am sure most absences are unavoidable. However, 2–way communication between us is essential, and I need to know what's going on. Please call or e–mail me before the absence if you can, but at least by 9:00pm the day of EACH unplanned absence. BTW: If you tell me orally at the pool, or send a message about absences (or anything) with someone else, my "getting it" is unreliable at best. "Unexcused" absences will be charged for.

PRIORITIES: Please give your child's swim lessons the priority they deserve for satisfactory progress. Try to schedule other things like other lessons, appointments, etc on non&#ndash;lesson days so as not to conflict with their swim lessons. Our Season is too short as is! Try to avoid more than 2 consecutive missed lessons for vacations, etc. The children lose momentum & continuity. Progress stops & they get "burned out", especially in Aug. AWARDS (T–Shirts, Referral Rebates, Progress & Attendance Certificates and all other Recognitions, etc) will be made as soon as possible as they are earned. We may have one or more "Test Days" during the Season so you can see their progress and I can give "Skill Level" Certificates. The certificates & Prizes may be in your Calendar Pages or out for you to pick up, so as not to take up Instruction Time in Class. |

FLEXIBILITY: Because I am the only teacher, if your child needs to change to a different class group, it will obviously be at a different time. As much as possible I will try to keep your lessons at least on the same days within the parameters of your availability you set on your Registration Form. If your parameters change, please let me know ASAP in Writing. SUGGEST: You keep the whole time within the parameters you have set on your 2 Lesson Days OPEN and available for possible time change. Try not to "overbook" your child, causing stress and a less than ideal learning environment for your child.
